Commerce and Colonies

Today we will learn about how Europeans turned to colonization to better their economic situations. 

Specifically, we will study two early English colonies, Plymouth and Jamestown. 

 We have two learning goals today. 

 1. You will be able to explain how colonization led to increased wealth for European countries including: Spain, the Netherlands, France and England. 

 2. You will be able to list details that describe Jamestown and Plymouth. 

HW: Read Summary 1.3 and complete CN: Summary 1.3 (Be sure to add the language of the discipline: interest, capitalism, mercantalism, northwest passage, charter, representative government, Mayflower Compact and religious freedom. Don't forget your paragraph summary at the bottom of your notes.)
